Have you ever heard of writer’s block? That’s something that a lot of people like to talk about, especially since when they have writer’s block they won’t be writing, so they will probably go on the internet and google how to overcome writer’s block. Is that how you got here today? It’s okay if it is! Every time someone visits this page, I make a small amount of money. Why would I hold that against you?
So, how do you overcome writer’s block? Who cares? It’s sort of like the hiccups, you can provide any number of cures and have a general disclaimer that they won’t all work for everyone, so try them out and see what works for you!
- Go for a walk
- Bake a loaf of bread from scratch
- Play with a puppy - and I mean really play!
- Imagine the world of your book was turned upside down. What would fall out? What is securely attached to the ground?
- Do an inkblot test
- Join an improv dance class
- Climb a tree
- Draw a map of your brain, and use it to find what happens next
