People often ask me why I’m writing this series about how to make a living as a writer. The answer is simple: to teach you how to make a living as a writer by running a website teaching people how to make a living as a writer. Remember I spoke about deriving ad revenue from the ads you see around the place? And remember how I mentioned that you can buy novelty merchandise emblazoned with cute animal puns? Just like you, I want to make a living as a writer, and to do that, I am running a website teaching people how to make a living as a writer.
In the previous article, we saw that it’s possible to construct entirely new articles by simply repeating things you’ve written in previous articles. Another way to create a new article is to link to articles that other people have written.
For example, you might write an article about the Best Websites For Learning How To Make A Living As A Writer:
- This website (obviously!)
- www.WritersDigest.com
- www.MakeALivingWriting.com
- Some other website (I’m literally not even trying any more)
By now, you’re probably realising that this series of articles is all just a parody of other websites that claim to teach you how to make a living as a writer. In fact, I said that right from the beginning. You know as well as I do that the best thing you could do right now is to close this browser window and return to your manuscript. But will you?
